We also love to spend time with our family and guests, so we design our courses to show you how to produce fantastic results in the kitchen without spending too much time slaving away at the stove!

This versatile course teaches basic fundamental cooking skills.
We show you how to be inventive with daily meals and when catering for guests. Perfect for home cooks, B&B owners, family’s or couples who want to cook together, students, beginners and in fact anyone who wants to add to their repertoire.

This course is a perfect runner up to the Confident Cooks course.
In each lesson we prepare 4 courses covering the following:

  • Bread making such as focaccia, pizza, rolls, loaves, stuffed breads, rolls, pita and naan bread.
  • Pastries – how to use Phyllo, puff, making baked spring rolls, pies, etc.
  • Sauces – complex sauces, basic sauces and salad dressings.
  • Beef – the perfect steak – how to prepare and present fillet steak to perfection.
  • Chicken – versatile dishes for everyday cooking or entertaining.
  • Pork (or substitute meat) – perfectly lean meat which is easy, economical and versatile.
  • Pasta – easy, perfect and versatile.
  • Fish – the perfection of fresh fish.
  • Knife skills – chopping and cutting.
  • Sharing information and skills.

This 6 lesson creative skills course featurs bold flavours and fresh seasonal ingredients, this hands-on course will give you the confidence to master complex cooking skills step-by-step, without spending hours in the kitchen! Sugar Craft and Cake Decorating

SUGAR CRAFT AND CAKE DECORATING

Christina Martin School of Food and Wine trained chef, Jesse shares his extensive “how to” knowledge with you.
From butter cream to royal icing and sugar paste, piped and moulded flowers, modelling and moulds.
If you want a hobby or to earn extra cash by making and decorating cakes for special occasions, enter this creative world and book on this course!  Once you learn a few basic tips and tricks, and keep on practicing them, you will be amazed by the professional looking results you can achieve. Make elegant tea cakes, stunning birthday cakes and ultimately engagement and wedding masterpieces.

Bake a fruit cake to take home and elegantly decorate it with handmade sugar flowers and lace-work.
Cover cakes with marzipan, plastic icing and royal icing. On the first evening you will bake the cakes and begin making the icing and edible flowers and start work on the marzipan and plastic icing.

On the second evening, you decorate the cakes baked the night before and learn how to pipe on delicate lace work. Completely hands-on!

This course is a no-brainer to equip teenagers and school leavers to fend for themselves in the kitchen!
Four interactive lessons will give you confidence to cook for yourself and your friends. Our easy methods will teach you to make your budget stretch and make healthier versions of your favourite (now not so junk) food.

Suitable for 16-year-olds and up and we include a fabulous cookery book for you to keep.
